Click HERE to PIN IT for later As a parent of three teen ladies( and a boy who is almost 20), I often feel overwhelmed with all the electronic devices around us. Between all the TELEVISION’s, computer systems, laptop computers, ipads, ipods, and cellphones in our home, I feel we can open our own electronic shop!

While my kids are great about putting away their gadgets while at the dinner table, it’s sometimes sidetracking when they remain in their hands every other minute of the day.

And I can’t just put the blame on them, as my hubby and I can be absolutely guilty of constantly “inspecting” our phones!

When Pillsbury asked my household to go “technology-free” for one evening, I anticipated a couple of grumbles and complaints. We pulled out our preferred board video game, and I promised them the most decadent, delicious dessert I could think of using Pillsbury Funfetti Chocolate Fudge Brownie mix!

.?. !! Helping mom in the kitchen is nothing new for my kids! I offered them each a job and they managed it like pros! We made a scrumptious Cookies and Cream Brownie Ice Cream Cake for our unique dessert. Let’s simplify:

First, you are going to need to plan ahead a little on this one, as you want it to set up in the freezer for a couple hours. We picked to bake our brownies and get it in the freezer prior to supper even started! You’ll wish to divide the brownie batter into 2 9-inch cake pans. I cut a circle of parchment paper to line the bottom so that they would not stick at all.

Once the brownies were done baking and cooling, we placed among them in the bottom of a 9-inch springform pan. In a little bowl, we mixed up a container of hot fudge sauce (do not heat it) with about 16 crushed chocolate sandwich cookies (about 2 cups worth of crumbs). Spread this over the cooled brownie.

Next you’re going to include your cookies and cream ice cream. I let it soften on the counter for about 15 minutes (while I collected my things and blended the hot fudge and cookies). This was the perfect quantity of time to soften it somewhat. Scoop it out and cover the hot fudge cookie layer (utilize an entire container, 1.5 quart).

Add your 2nd layer of brownie. Press gently to smoosh it all down. Cover with foil and freeze for at least 2 hours (or more if you ‘d like).

While this remains in the freezer it’s the best time to delight in dinner and play a household board game. Our family likes video games … from cards to board video games, it doesn’t matter. I enjoy that it offers us a chance to talk, laugh, and make memories! And, without the diversion of innovation, we truly had a fun night!

When our video games were done, we pulled out the frozen brownie cake. We removed the springform pan and covered the cake in whipped topping! The ending up touch was to utilize the funfetti sprays from the Pillsbury brownie mix! There’s no requirement for a cell phone when you have your hands on a plate of this ice cream cake!

I challenge you and YOUR household to go innovation free … no TELEVISION’s, phones, computers. What will you do? And please, tell me, you’ll enjoy this cake I produced
